PACT Housekeeping Meetings
Thursday 8th October 2026
Started out with a recap of our meeting with Lee, not much to report other than that Horbury aren't able to answer any questions regarding fire strategy, so our next step in this area will be to contact Paul, Dan’s contact from the estates team. Lee was pretty happy with the rest of the presentation that we showed him and didn't have many questions, the only other thing that we need answered is still structural elements. Since it’s the crux of a lot of our plans, we are really driving to answer these questions with Andrew from Eastwood.
The rest of our meeting revolved around the open house. We’ve all firmly agreed to hold it on the 28th of November, which feels like a long time away but will come around fast. We have spoken about coordinating social medias, particularly so that we are able to build momentum and get the word out, giving people enough time to hear about it and decide to come along. Sav and Nell will put together an initial social media post to be shared with PACT that can be posted asap, after this point they will be focussing on posts that can be shared across both accounts. PACT won’t have to wait for them to catch up with their own posts since an introduction of SKiNT can happen a little further down the line, so long as everyone is able to post as/when/what they need.
Sav and Nell are off to Edinburgh tomorrow, visiting some sites that they think are valuable to the project, the most important being the Maggie’s Centre there. This was designed by Richard Murphy who was the main source of inspiration for the design of the Bridge, and so being granted access to this space is an honour in more ways than one. We hope to gain some new design ideas, considering how the space is used, ask questions about what works and what is important, and come back ready to continue developing the project, particularly internal materiality.
