PACT Housekeeping Meetings

Housekeeping: Week 20

< return to project portal
Thursday 29th October 2026

Just a brief meeting tonight, Sav and Nell are plodding away with prepping posters and materials for the open house, so we just touched on a couple of points.

The first is that Lucy says she has been talking to a lot of people who are keen and able to help us out, be that tradespeople, or even unrelated companies who do volunteer days who might be able to join us for odd jobs around the house and around the charity.

The second (and last!) point was that Sav and Nell have been thinking of small ways that we can make the project feel more community based, even when people aren’t around. The idea that was brought forward was to get friends, families, trustees etc to decorate tiles that can then go up as the splashback in the kitchen. Everyone is a fan of this idea, as it not only should be quite simple to carry out, but will bring a lot to the house. It is a visual and creative representation of community; that you are not alone, and that people have come before you. It’s well known that going through a cancer journey can be lonely for many people, and so this small reminder will hopefully bring something extra to the house that the residents can enjoy.
